MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

The May Meeting of the Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club was called to order on May 15, 2017, at 7:11 pm by Mike Cole W5TMC, Club President.
Steve Rutherford announced that the Meeting Minutes from the April Meeting were posted on the Club’s Website. Joe Stokes K5JPS made a Motion to approve the Minutes as posted on the Website, Jim Weaver KM5YV, seconded the Motion and it was approved unanimously.

Cathy Haugh KF5UYT, Club Treasurer, presented the Treasurer’s Report as follows:

A motion was made by Jim Darrough KI7AI to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented, seconded by Joel Goldstein W5GOL and approved unanimously.
Mike Cole announced that Charlie Wells was a Silent Key.

OLD BUSINESS
Report from Club Picnic the Food was good and all those that attended has a great time.
A report from the Special Event Station K5T, at the Trolley Museum, a total of 18 showed up to help, propagation was very bad, but they had a good time.
John Annis WO0OOO, reported that the Club Website was up and running, he will be adding a Silent Key Section and some Additional Areas, he also stated that he would be putting a Reflector up for Emails.

NEW BUSINESS
The ARRL VHF/UHF Contest will be coming up, Mike asked for Volunteers to contact him if they were interested in participating.
Mike also mentioned that the ARRL KID’s Day is coming up June 18th (Sunday) and we all should make an effort to get some of the Kids interested in Amateur Radio through this event.
FIELD DAY was also discussed, will be held June 24th & 25th at Greenwood. Team Captains are needed for – 20 Meters, 40 Meters & 75 Meters. Club will pay for the FUEL for Generators and ICE, receipts will need to be turned in to get reimbursement. The Club will also furnish the Saturday Night Meal. SW Times Record KFSM have made agreements that they will cover the Club’s activities during Field Day. The CERT Trailer will be there. We will also have RTTY units there.
It was also mentioned that Joel Goldstein is going to be putting up a G5RV antenna and could use some help putting the “Push-up pole” and the antenna.
Mike Bell K5JMB made a motion to adjourn the Meeting and it was approved unanimously.

After the conclusion of the Meeting a drawing was held for a HandiTalkie that was donated to the Club and Donations were made by those attending the Meeting and John Annis WO0OOO ticket was drawn.
