MINUTES FOR FORT SMITH AREA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

JANUARY 13, 2018

MONTHLY MEETING

The January 2018 Meeting of the Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club was held on January 13, 2018 at the Western Sizzlin on Towson Avenue in Ft Smith for the Annual Banquet and Meeting

The Meeting was called to order at 6:20 PM by Jimmie Lowrey, Newly Elected President, he announced the Minutes from the December Meeting were posted on the Club Website, Joe Stokes, K5JPS, the Minutes were approved by consent.

Cathy Haugh presented the Treasurer’s Report as Follows:

Joel Goldstein W5GOL made a Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented, Jim Weaver KM5YV seconded the Motion and it was approved Unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

Rory Bowers K5CKS reported that the Communication Service Monitor at the Repeater Site needs to be Calibrated, he received a bid from AvionTEq in California, in the Amount of $910.00, we are going to look at this again in the February Meeting after obtaining another bid.

Mike Cole W5TMC shared with the Club that the HAMFEST planning is going good, all of the Vendors that were at the HAMFEST last year would be there again this year except for WB0W.

Mike also mentioned that they are trying to get a BOOT CAMP TRAINING CAMP for those wanting to take the Technician Licensing, probably going to be Feb 3rd & 4th with Testing immediately after the Class. 

NEW BUSINESS

Joe Stoke K5JPS encouraged anyone wanting to participate in Winter Field Day to get in touch with him.

We had 2 Guests representing ARRL with us for the Banquet/Meeting, James Ferguson, the Arkansas Section Manager and David Norris, the Delta Division Director, they both spoke about things that were going on in their respective positions.
